Does anyone else agree with Fitzgerald's criticisms of American culture?

I finished reading the Great Gatsby, and I was wondering if anyone else agreed with Fitzgerald's criticisms of American culture during the roaring 20's? Sorry to ask a question within a question, but just on your opinion, do you guys think it was better living back then or in modern times?
