I really want a summer job, some help please!!?

Hi i am a 17 year old boy. It is summer now and i want to work, really bad. i've applied at several locations about 2 weeks ago. I am unexperienced and i have no help from networking. I know this doesnt look good for me but i really need help on how to land a job. Ive called almost all of the places I applied to and 2 of them took my name down and said if they run by it, they will call me. This was 3 days ago. I still havent gotten a call or email about any of the jobs. Any advice please? I am kind of desperate at the moment and need help from anyone who knows about the job industry. I really appreciate that you took time to read and respond to this.
