Koh samui resorts. Kandaburi?

I'm going to koh samui soon. Last time I stayed there I stayed at chewang regent which was in a good location for bars, clubs, and food. This time I was thinking of staying at the kandaburi resort which is up further. How much further up is it compared to chewang regent? Is there many places to get food and drink near there? And is it hard to get down to the main party spots? (green mango)
